Jan. 7—GRAND FORKS — Two juvenile male suspects have been charged with attempted murder as a result of the

that occurred in the area of the Ramada, which is located at 1250 N. 43rd St. in Grand Forks.

The Grand Forks Police Department was dispatched to the area at approximately 10:50 p.m. Officers’ initial investigation revealed that a firearm had been discharged in the Ramada parking lot; two people were transported to Altru by a private vehicle with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Two subjects, allegedly trying to flee the scene, were detained nearby, according to a GFPD release sent to the media. Further investigation resulted in one of the subjects being arrested for attempted murder. The release said additional criminal charges were possible, and an updated press release issued Monday afternoon, Jan. 6, confirmed the second person has also been charged with attempted murder.

The injured parties, a male and female, are also juveniles, the release said. No names will be released — unless the accused are transferred to adult criminal court — because everyone involved is underage.

The investigation is ongoing and active. No further updates are available, the release said.

Anyone with further information can contact the GFPD by phone at (701) 787-8000, or submit a tip either on their Facebook page, website or via the Tip411 app.
