UAFS, UA-Fayetteville, ATU hold Fall 2024 graduation ceremonies

Area and state colleges will have commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, Fayetteville, and Arkansas Tech University will hold two ceremonies to accommodate all the graduates.

UAFS

The first ceremony for the Fall 2024 graduates begins at 10 a.m. with the university’s largest academic college, the College of Arts and Sciences, at the Stubblefield Center in Fort Smith. The college will award 461 credentials, including associate and bachelor’s degrees, technical certificates and certificates of proficiency.

The second ceremony at 1 p.m. will recognize graduates from the College of Business and Industry, which awarded 259 credentials, and the College of Health, Education and Human Sciences, which awarded 144 credentials. The ceremony will feature the university’s four Fall 2024 master’s degree graduates.

Both ceremonies of the 111th commencement will be live-streamed on the UAFS website and YouTube channel.

Jerry Glidewell, the chairman of the UAFS Board of Visitors, will be the keynote speaker for both ceremonies. Glidewell attended UAFS, which was then known as Westark Community College, before earning his degree from the University of the Ozarks in 1979.

ATU

Almost 1,200 degrees and credentials will be conferred upon Arkansas Tech University graduates during a pair of fall 2024 commencement ceremonies at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.

The 9:30 a.m. ceremony will feature graduates from the College of Arts and Humanities and the College of Education and Health.

Individuals graduating from the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the College of Business and Economic Development, and ATU-Ozark Campus will participate in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday.

Live streams of both ceremonies will be available online.

UA-Fayetteville

UA-Fayetteville will celebrate its fall graduating class with two ceremonies in Bud Walton Arena. Nearly 2,000 students will graduate at the end of the fall 2024 term, and approximately 1,500 students are scheduled to “walk” in this semester’s commencement ceremonies.

The 8:30 a.m. ceremony will include the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences, Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, School of Law, and interdisciplinary graduate students.

The 12:30 p.m. ceremony will include the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, the College of Education and Health Professions, and the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

Both ceremonies will be live-streaming on the U of A YouTube channel.
