Updated Warming Centers, Emergency Shelters list for 2025

Jan. 3—Community Missions of St. Joseph shared the updated list of Warming Centers and Emergency Shelters for Jan. 2, 2025.

Area Warming Centers include:

* Carnegie Library, 316 Massachusetts. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

* Downtown Library, 927 Felix. Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* East Hills Library, 502 N. Woodbine. Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Washington Park Library, 1821 N. 3rd St. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Rolling Hills Library, 1904 N. Belt Highway. Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

* The Salvation Army, 602 Messanie St. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Savannah Branch — Rolling Hills Library, 514 W. Main St. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Warming Centers are Americans with Disabilities Accommodation Act compliant, have restrooms and water fountains available, may close for holidays or other reasons and reserve the right to request that disruptive patrons leave.

Additionally, each Warming Center may have restrictions on what is or is not allowed including alcohol, weapons, smoking and pets.

Emergency Shelters in St. Joseph include:

* Community Missions Cold Weather Shelter, 700 Olive Street. Open to homeless aged 18 or older, nightly from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Beginning on Jan. 6 through early March.

* The Salvation Army, 602 Messanie St. Open to homeless families consisting of at least one adult and one child (under 18-years-old). Walk-ins are allowed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or After-hours by appointment. Sex offenders are not allowed.

* YWCA Shelter, 304 N. 8th St. Open to Adult survivors of domestic or sexual violence, their children, and homeless women if there are beds available.
