According to an advisory issued Friday by the National Weather Service in Louisville, snow is expected to move into the southern Indiana and north-central Kentucky regions early Sunday with possible accumulations of 2-4 inches. Morning lows in the lower- to mid-20s are expected throughout the area.
By afternoon, the region may see a transition to a wintry mix of snow and freezing rain as temperatures increase slightly, bringing a significant chance of damaging ice. Temperatures are expected to lower during the evening hours, bringing back more snow chances that will continue into Monday morning.
Colder temperatures are expected to continue through next week, with lows in the single digits and teens anticipated through Thursday. Some areas in southern Indiana could also see sub-zero temperatures, according to the forecast.
