A West Bridgewater woman is facing several charges after allegedly crashing into another car in Stoughton Monday afternoon, pushing the other vehicle into a building and seriously injuring the driver inside.
Erin McElroy, 44, was arrested and charged with malicious damage to property, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and disturbing the peace after police responded to a two-car crash on Canton Street around 3:45 p.m. Monday
Stoughton police say McElroy rear-ended another car, pushing the vehicle into a building.
Immediately after the crash, McElroy exited her vehicle and began to bash the other involved vehicle several times with a metal pipe, Stoughton police say.
The driver of the vehicle who was pushed into the building suffered serious injuries and was taken to Boston Medical Center.
McElroy was also evaluated at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She will be booked upon release from the hospital, Stoughton police say.
She is expected to be arranged in Stoughton District Court on Tuesday.
