With a winter storm warning issued for Jan. 10 over all of Western North Carolina, some events are canceled while county, government and other institutions will be closed because of inclement weather.

City of Asheville office locations will be closed for in-person services Jan. 10. Staff will be available to provide assistance for the typical online services the City provides. All community centers are closed and programs canceled.
ART bus services will be suspended after 11 a.m. Jan. 10. Should conditions improve by Saturday morning, ART services will resume at 10 a.m on Jan. 11 and operate according to the regular schedule until 6 p.m. Updates will be provided if any further changes to service occur.
Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College will be closed Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11. There will be no day or evening classes and no testing.
The FEMA center at the Asheville Mall will be closed Jan. 10-11, including Hazard Mitigation Grant Program operations. They will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13. Centers are normally open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday–Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. It is not necessary to go to a center to apply for FEMA assistance. The fastest way to apply is online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/.
Haywood Community College in Clyde will be closed Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11.

Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock. All campuses of Blue Ridge Community College will be closed on Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11. All day and evening classes and activities are canceled.
The Henderson County Disaster Recovery Center will be closed Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11. The DRC will reopen on Monday, Jan. 13, with regular hours.
Henderson County Parks & Recreation activities for Saturday, Jan. 11, have been postponed. Youth basketball games will be made up the following Saturday, Jan. 18.
