Newly released data from Realtor.com for October shows that potential buyers and sellers in Shasta County saw slightly higher home sale prices than the previous month’s median of $372,000.
The median home sold for $375,000, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows. That means October, the most recent month for which figures are available, was up 0.8% from September.
Compared to October 2023, the median home sales price was down 1.1% compared to $379,000.
Realtor.com sources sales data from real estate deeds, resulting in a few months’ delay in the data. The statistics don’t include homes currently listed for sale and aren’t directly comparable to listings data.

Looking only at single-family homes, the $375,250 median selling price in Shasta County was up 0.1% in October from $375,000 the month prior. Since October 2023, the sales price of single-family homes was down 4.7% from a median of $393,750.One single family home sold for $1 million or more during the month, compared to three recorded transactions of at least $1 million in October 2023.

Condominiums and townhomes increased by 20% in sales price during October to a median of $294,000 from $245,000 in September. Compared to October 2023, the sales price of condominiums and townhomes was up 1.4% from $290,000. No condominiums or townhomes sold for $1 million or more during October.

In October, the number of recorded sales in Shasta County rose by 12.8% since October 2023 — from 133 to 150. All residential home sales totaled $58.1 million.
Across California, homes sold at a median of $750,000 during October, up 0.7% from $745,134 in September. There were 26,925 recorded sales across the state during October, up 13.4% from 23,738 recorded sales in October 2023.
