What is Colorado Gives Day? How to donate to Colorado nonprofits on big giving day

Tuesday is known as one of Colorado’s biggest charitable giving days of the year.

Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, Dec. 10, which the nonprofit calls the “biggest 24-hour giving movement in the state,” and one of the most successful charitable giving days nationwide.

Colorado Gives is a community foundation and nonprofit that facilitates donations year-round for hundreds of nonprofits across the state. Every December, the foundation hosts Colorado Gives Day to encourage fundraising for nonprofits statewide.

In 2023, more than $54 million was raised for Colorado nonprofits on Colorado Gives Day. Since Colorado Gives Day started in 2010, people have donated more than $469 million, according to the foundation’s website.

Colorado Gives Foundation facilitates donations to hundreds of nonprofits across Colorado. A full list of nonprofits you can donate to through Colorado Gives can be found on its website.

For those who sign up for monthly recurring donations on Colorado Gives Day, Colorado Gives Foundation will match their first month’s gift up to $100. Donors must sign up by Tuesday night or before the $250,000 in matching funds run out.

Colorado Gives Day donors will also be eligible to win prizes in hourly drawings throughout the day Tuesday, including a round-trip Southwest Airlines ticket.
