What time will it snow in Wichita Falls? Here you go

Only Las Vegas bookies like giving odds more than the National Weather Service, and the NWS is betting on snow arriving in Wichita Falls very early Thursday.

In an hour-by-hour prognostication, the weather service predicts a 65 percent chance of snow falling by 6 a.m., declining to 60 percent in the afternoon and 30 percent in the evening.

That means the heaviest snow is likely to come during the morning commute. As of Wednesday morning, the weather service still bet on snow in Wichita Falls amounting to an inch or less.

Meteorologists predict a 15 percent chance of snow lingering until about 3 a.m. Friday, but by afternoon, the sun is predicted to peek through, and the temperature will rise to 41 degrees.

Snow in Wichita Falls is predicted to start early Thursday and get worse as the storm moves east of the region.

Heavier snow is predicted as the storm moves into eastern parts of Texas and Oklahoma, which could impact travel in those areas. The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is in a winter storm warning with expectations of 2 to 4 inches of snow along with sleet and ice.

The Texas Department of Transportation is continuing to treat roads in the Wichita Falls area, but the weather service warns the farther east you go, the greater your odds of running into travel problems.
