Apple’s latest operating system update, iOS 18.2, is set to roll out today for iPhones and iPads.
Millions of users are already waiting to see the software update notification. The update will be released in stages, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
That means you’ll have to wait until 1 p.m. in New Jersey to start updating your iPhones and iPads.
But, that doesn’t mean you’ll see it exactly at 1 p.m.; Apple rolls out updates gradually to manage the demand better.
Among the standout features in iOS 18.2:
Apple Intelligence upgrades for creating custom emojis, generating images from text descriptions, and an integration of ChatGPT with Siri.
The Mail app redesign automatically groups emails into tabs based on content and includes AI tools to help write messages.
The Find My app update lets you share the location of AirTags with other people so it’s easier to track objects while traveling.
The update is compatible with iPhone 11 and newer phones; iPadOS 18.2 is compatible with iPad Pro and Air (3rd gen and later), iPad (7th gen and later), and iPad mini (5th gen and later.)
