The nominees are:
Kamren Honea, senior at Flour Bluff High School
Known for his passion for art, rhythm games and chess, Kamren brings creativity and strategic thinking to all his activities, his nomination said.
Kamren demonstrates his musical skills and leadership as the center snare in the marching band. After recently becoming involved in chess, he became proficient in just five months.
Kamren intends to join the Army and specialize in the audio/visual sector.
Kamren’s nomination described his generosity and dedication to challenging himself, whether improving his chess strategy or mastering complex rhythms in band practice.
“Not only is he a part of the band helping to bring school spirit to every event, but he is a hardworking student who never gives up and always puts his best foot forward in the face of adversity,” said his teacher, Imelda Jorgensen.
