The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch and warning for North Louisiana on Jan. 8. It said the storm is expected to impact the northern region of the Ark-La-Tex, specifically Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas, beginning about 6 a.m. Jan. 9.
Caddo and Bossier Parish school districts released statements Jan. 8 stating that schools will remain open on Thursday following the latest forecast information provided by the NWS.
According to both school districts, all after-school programs will be postponed until a later date.
“The district will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and will provide an update to stakeholders on Thursday afternoon regarding any potential closures for Friday,” Caddo Parish Schools said.
