Winter storm begins its march across Indiana. Follow along for live updates

A winter storm moving into Indiana, which is expected to dump several inches of snow, is already creating minor snow accumulations, the National Weather Service Indianapolis said during its 7 a.m. update.

“Snow is moving into southwest portions of central (Indiana) with minor accumulations already being observed. Snowfall rates will continue to increase and road conditions are expected to continue deteriorating in this highlighted area through the morning,” NWS said.

A winter storm warning remains in effect through 7 p.m. Monday because the storm is expected to bring heavy snow and 35 mph wind gusts. It also will likely impact travel and make road icy and dangerous in some areas.

How much snow will Indianapolis get?

Early Sunday meteorologists predicted Indianapolis could see more than 8 inches of snow during the storm.

Areas south of the I-70 corridor could see more than 10 inches of snow.
