The Puyallup Police Department (PPD) says they arrested a woman Monday who attempted to kidnap a 3-year-old from the waiting room of Good Samaritan Hospital.
It happened just after 1 p.m. on Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.
Witnesses told PPD the 3-year-old was sitting in the emergency department waiting room with her mother. They say the suspect abruptly picked up the child and began walking away with her when several people, including staff and security, intervened.
Police say it took several people using force to break the child free.
The 3-year-old sustained minor injuries.
The suspect, police say, is a 45-year-old woman from unincorporated Pierce County. She has been booked into the Pierce County Jail for Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree.
