WSP seeks witnesses in I-405 shooting involving Corvette

Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating a road rage incident where a driver fired a shot at another vehicle on northbound I-405 to SR 520, according to a WSP statement.

On January 9, at approximately 7:30 a.m., WSP communications received a 911 call from a victim reporting that they were shot at on northbound I-405 to SR 520.

Troopers contacted the victim off the freeway, who was not injured.

The victim stated that while traveling on northbound 405 at Northeast 8th, they attempted to pass a black Chevrolet Corvette on the right.

The Corvette accelerated and prevented them from passing.

After changing lanes, the victim was directly behind the Corvette, which then slammed on the brakes.

After exiting onto SR 520, an occupant of the Corvette fired a shot, striking the hood of the victim’s vehicle.

The Corvette continued to follow the victim, periodically pointing a gun at them.

The photo of the Corvette above is not the suspect vehicle, but is similar to the actual vehicle.

WSP detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the suspect vehicle to contact Detective Goodin at Robert.Goodin@wsp.wa.gov.
